Flugelhorn
The Trumpet's mellow cousin.
Pitched the same as a trumpet, the conical shape and wider tubing of the Flugelhorn gives it a much softer and more mellow tone quality, ideal for more intimate settings.
Used in British-style brass bands and brass & wind bands the world over, it's also a particular favourite of jazz and big band musicians.

AKAI E.W.I. (Electronic Wind Instrument)
Looking much like a conventional woodwind instrument, this in fact is a synthesiser sound controller. Most people think of a synthesiser as a keyboard instrument, but this is one that the player blows into. This gives greater opportunity to add expression and a personal touch to the music. Just like a keyboard synth though, the software gives this instrument the ability to emulate scores of different instruments, from the clarinet, sax or flute, through to the violin, trombone or xylophone...a veritable "band in a stick"!
